I am not a big movie-goer; I think the last movie I saw in the theater was over 3 years ago (The Notebook). But I was given movie tickets for my birthday last year and I have to use them up in the next 2 weeks. Anyone have any recommendations for current major releases? These tix have to be used at a Regal, so art-house films are out Crying or Very sad .

Was the notebook, wasn't that the story about the couple that split up and he built this huge house for her, etc.????

Have you read any of the books the movie was based on?

Kind of- I think you're thinking of the same movie... The one where the wife developed Alzheimers and the husband read to her out of her diary to keep her memories alive. It kind of re-lived her life over the span of the movie. Great 40s period clothes & settings; kind of cheesy as a story though. I do think it was a book first, but I haven't read it.

You might be able to find a re-release of the Edith Piaf movie, that actress won Best Actress at the Oscars.

I wasn't too keen on La Vie en Rose. Good actress, lovely clothes but the jumping around from different parts of her life annoyed me. You'd go from '63 to '18 to '49 then back to the 30s. Too disjointed for me.

I wanted to see that when it came out, but didn't get there. I'm positive it won't be at my local theater, since they only bring in the really popular movies (=stuff I don't care to see). Evil or Very Mad
