TONIGHT through very early tomorrow morning, Roz Russell!

Unfortunately, they're showing the familiar ones at regular viewing time. If you can, TIVO or otherwise record, some I've only read about!

I've been watching The Women. This movie, for me, never gets old. The cast is divine. The fashion show in color is a perk! Rosalind Russel is wonderfully catty in this movie, as the hilarious opening credits allude to.

I did miss His Girl Friday and I look forward to My Sister Eileen, as I've never seen it. For anyone who doesn't already know- His Girl Friday is in the public domain and can be downloaded from http://www.archive.org/details/his_girl_friday.)

Has anyone heard more about a possible remake of The Women? I really hope that was just a rumor... sounds akin to blasphemy to me!

Anyway, off to make cupcakes!

I really like The Women and am horrified to note that there is a new version in production now Shocked

I suppose it is one way of Hollywood portraying strong female characters but you'd think they could come up with something new...

Oh, Miss R, I couldn't agree more!

I really don't have a huge problem with remaking some movies, but there are some that just don't need it.

Although, did you see the remake of The Women from the 50s? Called The Opposite of Sex, with June Allyson and a young and beautiful Joan Collins as Crystal Allen.

I just don't think the story can be brought into a modern context... and if they are trying to redo it in the time it was originally set... there are simply no actresses like there were than. As far as I am concerned.

I love The Women! I caught most of Holiday Inn yesterday. I'm a bit embarrassed to admit its the first time I've seen it.

We caught part of a Dick Powell film last night, one I haven't seen.

They're profiling big bands and their music on Wednesdays in July!
