WILL it be done in time, Lindy? The historic day is not far off, at all...

I finished the front on Monday, and wove in the ends.

Last night I washed and blocked it.

It will be dry by tomorrow for sure, and I'm planning on sewing it together on Saturday, and re-blocking it on Sunday.

Smile

It should be ready a day early.

Thank you. Very Happy I can't wait to have it done!

I cast on for a new sweater vest the other day, and I'm already half done with the back.

Cream, cocoa brown & spicy orange. It has cabled ribbing at the waist, and narrow stripes in all three colors.

This might be the Year of the Sweater for me. (But I do need to make some more socks for my husband...that's the one thing he always wears and never loses, handknitted socks. The crazier the better, too. Good way to use up bit and pieces of leftover yarn skeins.)

I had some help in putting it together, as you can see.

The following picture was taken this morning:

WOO HOO! And right on time (by dint of your cat's help, of course)

Looks great LD!

Thank you.

I'm glad I made it. (Just about any other colorwork project will seem tame in comparison, too...there's a bonus!)

I'll be sewing the sweater vest together this w/e, and I've finished one bedsock and am half-way on the second.

They're too bulky for regular socks, unfortunately, but I think they'll make a nice gift. Very warm and comfortable.

I have another pattern idea in mind so as to having socks to coordinate with the vest.

Finished the second pair of socks, and the vest.

Last week I made a pair of fingerless mitts in pale blue for our receptionist (her birthday is in March), and I started a pair of socks for my MiL on Sunday.

The MiL socks are for Mother's Day.

I hope I can keep knitting at this pace!

FO ("finished objects") this year, not including the Obama sweater:

striped sweater vest
fingerless mitts
2 pr. heavy wool socks
tea cozy
watchcap

All in a month! I can hardly believe it.

The tea cozy went to my boss for his birthday.

WOW. Gee whiz, LD... You've accomplished a lot! How much time a day do you spend on such projects?

It depends...when I'm on a roll like this I knit for at least an hour a day during the week, and lots on the weekends; hours at a time.

I generally knit for a while before work, some 20+ minutes at lunch, and again in the evening if I can.

It's an addiction!

(Has a nicer outcome than most.)

Well, I finished socks for my MiL (confetti-like yarn...colorwise, I mean). They're made with Maizy, which is primarily corn (!) and some elastic.

I used leftovers + Cascade Fixation (cotton & elastic) to make socks for a vegan friend's birthday present. Mostly white with festive cuffs, heels and toes. I'm on the foot of the second sock.

And I am well along on the second of a pair of Fuzzy Feet (huge socks felted down to become slippers) for my husband.

I finished the slippers, made myself a few more pairs of socks, and made a pair of blue heather cabled socks for my husband. I've started a 40s sweater as well.

Today I finished my first piece of crewel embroidery. I don't know yet what I'm going to use it for (pillow, footstool, etc.?).
