| Felt is one of my favourite fabrics. If I can ever get my hands on that sewing machine I'm after (next month, fingers crossed!), I want to start a small home business sewing primarily with felt. I've also sourced a lavender supplier so I can sew up fabric smellies using cotton and faux silk. | |

| I've always wanted to try my hand at millinery (I have some very interesting old books on the topic), but actual wool felt seems impossible to find here. I've heard there's some fabulous store in the Garment District in NY, but I don't know if they only have notions, or the works...) | |

| I am interested in millinery also. I have been getting 100%felt from the local fabric store but theres not much color selection. I use the 20% or 30% when I am working out patterns and ideas. I have made or adjusted a few patterns. I'll post some of my hats here if you promise not to laugh. I use felt for other projects too. it's fun and easy to work with which is great for a beginner like me.
I also know where to get Fur Felt and a cheaper alternitive to balsawood hat blocks.

| I'd love to see your projects! I've been an admirer of other people's ability til now, so hints, tips, success/disaster stories are much appreciated.
I've got a book on order, Fabulous Felt by Sophie Bester, to help me get started.

| Me too! It's adorable! Is it from one of the vogue patterns for vintage chapeaux? PS: I LOVE green...my favorite color! | |

| It's from a vogue pattern that I altered. I made the tip larger and shortened the width of the sideband, then added the bow instead of a flower. i like it better than the others because it;s better made. I did it by hand. I am still not able to machine sew in circles very well. | |
