If you like Poirot, the David Suchet versions are all available, as several pricey box sets.

I love Suchet's Poirot best, so I'm saving up for them!

I have the Nero Wolfe sets and they are aces!

We have most of the Poirot series...it's fantastic.

I have the Wolfe series on loan from my mother; I love it. We also have seasons 1 & 2 of The House of Elliott.

Oh I LOVED the House of Elliott!

Last year when I had pneumonia, I had Ryan Netflix them for me...

I know that Bygone Knits recommends the Campion adaptations.

On her nod I read the first Campion that Allingham wrote. I did like it. But boy, what early amusing English murder mysteries owe to Bertie Wooster!

I must say, too, that I love the Pride and Prejudice adaptation with Colin Firth. One of the best. Miss Austen was a genius.

Yes, that is the only adaptation I can endure. I love Colin Firth.

We got Flickers from the library. Bob Hoskins...it was great fun.

It's about a scrappy cockney who's always got a scheme going. He moves from showing silents films to making them in his own production studio. Six episodes, I think, and the other characters are also fascinating.

I think it was made in the 70s. Costumes and set-dressing were great, make-up so-so.

But the acting was perfect, and the story, too. I think we're going to buy this. You can get it at Acorn.

Yay! I got the complete Jeeves & Wooster DVD set for my birthday! I've been watching them quite a bit lately, since I've been sick on the couch for the past week.

Foyle's War is a good BBC/PBS series that is out on DVD. It's a mystery/crime show set during WWII in England - very cool.

I'll second that. Foyle's War, starring the always excellent Michael Kitchen, is superb.
In fact, I don't think I've seen all the episodes so I might have to put that on my LoveFilm list.
