Do you know the Christmas song with the line "We all want figgy pudding" ...
Picture Christmas lunch, the male members of my family all tend to over indulge. A tipsy (that's polite) brother christened me "figgy pudding" because my name, when shortened, sounds a little like figgy. He proceeded to spend the rest of the afternoon spontaneously bursting into song. Good times.
Over time figgy pudding was shortened to pudding, and it's stuck. Thankfully, no-one refers to me as that in public.
My real name, BTW, is Phillippa. :-) |
