That's a tricky one. I like the first pattern as it has simpler lines to go with the patterned fabric but the second one has a very nice bodice.

I have green cotton fabric with small white dots. I want to do the neck tie and the sash in white. Dou you think I should do the sleeves in white also or is that too much?

deadpandiva, I think the white sleeves would be a bit too much, but what a wonderful pattern! I love 30s styles.

I agree! The green and white sounds lovely, I don't think I would do white sleeves.

Another in agreement here- no white sleeves. Great Pattern though. Be sure to post when you have finished it.

Yuck! This turned out to be the most unflattering thing I've made in a long time. I could easily tweak the fitting issues, but I think the collar makes it just not worth the effort. The collar is what originally drew me to this pattern but it does nothing for me. I think I may put the pattern up on eBay because I know I won't make another one.

That's a shame. It looks really nice, I like the fabric and piping.

What's wrong with the fit?

The high, wide collar makes my bust look even bigger and the kimono sleeves make me look like a (US) football player. Since I wear a 36G, I have to be very careful about my necklines. I usually stick with a v-neck or a button-down style. This just does nothing for me. The fitting issues are minor and could be tweaked easily. It just needs to be taken in at the waist. I pinned it tighter, but the more fitted waist just called attention to the big collar.

I love it, I'm sorry it doesn't suit you...I know what you mean. One thing I canNOT wear is a square neckline (for example). Bad, bad news.

What year is the pattern again?

Frankly, if you could size it to a modern US size 8, I'd be interested in buying it! (I'm about 37C, 27, 37).

I couldn't find the year, but it's a vintage size 16.5, meaning 37 bust, 31 waist, 41 hip.

Oh, the dress would be too difficult to take in enough to fit you.

I just one thse on ebay. I can't wait till they arrive.

I've wanted a playsuit for forever. I don't think those shorts will look good on me but the top and skirt will be fine.

This one I got for the pants. Blouses scare me.

I don't think I have one, but should one turn up, I'll let you know.
