I just started a shawl for my mother. It's actually a baby blanket pattern, out of one of the Vogue on the Go books (Baby Blankets Two). Simple cables with a garter stitch edging. I'm using a purple worsted, with colorful flecks, and making it longer.

Her birthday is in October, so I'm in good time!

This is inspired by a collar pattern from the same 1921 Bucilla Bear Brand booklet, but I made a lot of changes.

That's a really nice collar.

lindydiva & BygoneKnits...I'm officially jealous of your knitting prowesses. I'm way too frightened to make actual clothes. The whole idea of knitting somethign that actually has to fit well on my body is just mind boggling.

Also, I agree with Miss Roulette, the 1921 collar is fabulous! Are you on Ravelry lindydiva?

I am on Ravelry; my ID is ArtDecoDiva. My avatar is two Siamese kittens.

I haven't posted any photos yet. They won't load from my onl-line album, and I can't seem to chase my husband away from the laptop long enough to get anything done at home

Why, THANK you, charming sir.

How do you know I have time to talk?

Suspect

Some of these aren't recent projects. I'm not that productive!

But yes, I am obsessed....

All lasses have the chatterbox gene since birth! Razz

The exception being Nicola- who you hardly get a peep out of. I suspect early attempts at genetic engineering- replaced the chatterbox gene with a dancing or sewing gene.

You haven't "met" my husband, my dear chap.

I've given up speech, I can't fit it in when he pauses (occasionally) to take a breath! (He's in sales....)

Well, I haven't been knitting as much these past few months, but I am working on a large stole/lapghan for my mother (purple heather wool, cables; a lace scarf for me (varigated, like autumn leaves); three pairs of socks (all currently abandoned); and a vintage-inspired shrug in cream and taupe.

I cast on for this on Wednesday:

http://sewer-sewist.com/obamacraftproject/tag/patterns/

I'm subbing Patons merino and some Lion Brand Wool for the "Vanna's Choice". I do not like acrylic!

The back will be finished soon (it's solid, except for the ribbing).

I am also still working on the wrap for my mother. It looks good, but I'm so tired of knitting the same row over and over again, exept for the cable on row 3. tongue With application, though, I should have it ready to ship off in time for Christmas.

Does anyone else find it funny that our new President has a logo?? heehee

It's going very well!

The back is finished, and I am almost done with the sleeves. With luck I'll be casting on for the front this evening.

My knitting mojo is back, and about time!

Well, it was more "the house and hoping to get the house" sucked up all of my energy and time!

I have so many UFOs it's not funny. At least 3 pairs of socks, one sweater that probably needs no more than an hour's worth of finishing, and a sweater I stopped working on LAST summer! (It's about 1/3 of the way there.)

I really want to finish the wrap for my mother; I was able to find the shawl pin I got for her last year.

The next thing I want to do, aside from making socks, is make a log cabin throw with the cabled yarn I found at the thrift shop last year. There so many colors and shades of those colors that I think it's the leftovers from a color class for a RISD student.

I need to make more socks, though. I've hardly made any this past year, and not a single pair for myself.

It's funny about socks.

Sometimes I get on a roll and they're the only thing I want to knit; other times I just can't be bothered!

But as I want more hand-knitted socks I'd better start making them again.

No photos yet, but I'll take some soon.

The wrap is moving along, if slowly. And I need to finish and block it soon.

The front of the Hope sweater is going at a very sedate pace; I hate colorwork. But it will get finished, and I will certainly wear it on January 20th.

Here are some updates:

And I'm a few rows past this point now, I've got to get moving if it's to be done in time for the big day on the 20th!

I've started a new pair of socks, too. For me.

They're in superwash merino, leaf-green. Twisted rib stitch, with a twisted stockinette (stocking) stitch stripe. They'll be long ankle socks.

Well.

After NOT doing the raglan shaping (sketchy pattern) for the front, I had to rip back inches and inches.

However, the sweater is back on track, and please God I'll be finishing all this week, ready to wear before next Tuesday! (That's the day he'll be sworn into office.)

I'm not a political junkie, but this time around is special in many, many ways.

The green socks are going along slowly, and I have plans to make myself another sweater soon from a great yarn sale buy I just picked up.

Thanks very much!

I don't do a lot of color work, but I just had to have this sweater. Lots of work, but worth it.
