I quite like Dexter, though it's not really that new.

I was going to post this elswhere but since you started a thread...

The titles sequence in Dexter is fantastic but why does it start with him shaving, then proceeding to breakfast, etc. and by the time he's ready to go out he has a week's worth of stubble again? Was the continuity person on drugs or is this deliberate?

As I haven't seen it I can't give an informed opinion, but both of your choices sound possible to me!

Charlotte Chandler has written a new bio of Mae West that looks good.
Her two previous bio's on Joan Crawford and Bette Davis have received
very good reviews.

Rudo y Cursi

I just saw a movie about two soccer playing brothers in Mexico. Very funny. Directo Carlos Cuarón has created another gem:, “Rudo y Cursi.” The main actors are mesmorizing: Gael Garcia Bernal and Diego Luna returning from “Y tu Mamá También," directed by brothers Alfonso and Carlos Cuarón. Both movies are like special travelogues of Mexico and both end at the ocean.

“Rudo y Cursi.” was a big hit in Mexico. If you can find it in the States, prepare for subtitiles. It's cute to see it with actual Mexicans, as they will laugh at more subtle parts that you might miss. There is a "Desperate Housewives" type of narrator, to give the necessary life lessons.

The story follows two brothers as they plucked from their poor but beautiful banana paradise in Mexico to play soccer in Gotham aka Mexico City.

One brother is drop dead gorgeous, with a wicked soccer kick, who longs to be a singer. Only his recruiter, the wily Baton seems to recognize that his talent and passion are cruelly mixed up. Perhaps his mother has complimented his singing talent far too long.

The other brother Beto is a determined goalie with anger management issues. Here the cliches begin - not unlike the old Mexican movies of the 30s. Easy women, gambling, short fuses and jealousy all wreak havoc upon the brothers' best laid plans.

This is a Cinderella story where the Cinderellas (two brother actually) goes back to being Cinderellas, with one slightly maimed and both beholden to the drug lord who marries their sister.
