The more I use the Google Magazine search, the more I wonder if I really need to keep my stash of old print magazines....this has gotta be killin' the ebayers selling these. Check out these stories:

Auto Safety--1959:

Owner's Report: '53 Chevy:
http://www.google.com/books?id=ENwDAAAAMBAJ

Lauren Bacall Interview (NY Magazine, 94)
http://www.google.com/books?id=KeMCAAAAMBAJ

I could read these forever....I'm really wondering about my magazines....if they get Life and Reader's Digest, I may start sellin' 'em.

Funny you should say that; I bid on around 20 magazines yesterday! I like all my media to be tangible; whether it be photograph, book, magazine, record or even CD.

You can keep a magazine safe but how long will a JPEG or PDF last? I've said it before but there are going to be an awful lot of tears when people realise that a lifetime of memories can be wiped out by a power surge.

But, keeping on track with the subject, I know that Modern Mechanix will now be concentrating on the more obscure popular scientific publications as Google is scanning the common ones.

You have a point, but I've got the outlook, maybe by training, that many librarians have-->access over ownership. It's hard to forget that, at least for me.

Still, I understand, I was looking at some Life magazines this morning over coffee for bog research and thought about this.
