Today (3 September 2009) marks the 70th anniversary of the start of WW2.

The BBC have put together some archive footage from 1938-9 which highlights events from Chamberlain's Munich agreement to the declaration of war - BBC Archive.

There is also an article on Nicholas Winton, who organised the 'Kindertransports' from Czechoslovakia to Britain, Winton's Children.

I'm sure there will be lots more articles and footage in the coming years as other anniversaries are noted.

... And September 17th was the 65th anniversary of Operation Market-Garden !

(all right... I guess a wikipedia article wouldn't hurt, too.)
