I recently got my hair bobbed again and I'd love to do it in finger waves. Problem is, my hair is really thick and doesn't take curls or waves very well. Any suggestions for products/techniques?

Instant Hair Nourishment

3 tablespoons of olive oil
2 tablespoons of honey

Double or tripe measures as needed for longer hair. Mix together and apply to hair. Wrap your head in plastic wrap and leave it for 15 minutes. Rinse and viola, the result is supposed to be shiny locks.

During a search, I got this strange teaser on google...

"...when super-thin lips were in style..."

Naturally, I was curious. I can't remember a time when super thin lips were ever in style. So, I clicked on the teaser to read the whole article. Here's the part I had to share:

"Long gone are the days of Elizabeth Taylor, Doris Day, and Katherine Hepburn, when super-thin lips were in style-now, it's all about a plump and juicy kisser, á la Angelina Jolie, Scarlett ...

Well, I made my first attempt at applying the stuff tonight. What a laugh! The first eye was completely tragic but the second was actually almost OK. Too embarrassing to post photos, though! I was clever enough to only be practicing, I wasn't on my way out for a big night or anything. And I've bought a cheapy to practice with (although it is made by Rimmel, and I think quite a good product).

I was wondering if anyone had any tips to share, to help improve my chances of success second time ...

Cake Mascara

I wasn't aware until recently that you could still buy this! Marilyn Monroe apparently used Longcils Boncza cake mascara. Nowdays it's
Catherine Z Jones among others. It contains beeswax and rosewater, which has to be better for your lashes. Other brands that have cake mascaras are Paula Dorf, Isadora and Lola Cosmetics.
I'm not happy with the modern tube mascaras so I'm going to try to find one of these brands over here!

Anyone know if Germaine Montiel cosmetics are still around? (I've seen perfume occasionally, but that's it. ) My mom still raves to no end about her lipstick (the long, skinny variety, and tres elegant), which she bought at Bonwit's in Boston in the '50s.
