Actually it's been out since October but I just got my first disc yesterday and I've been watching it all day. For those of you who may not be hip to the show, it's about two guys who hit the mother road. Tod was a rich kid with all the best possible avenues, but whose father died leaving vast piles of debt, so all Tod has now is this bitchen' convertible 1960 corvette and his best pal Buzz. Buzz is tough "survivor" from Hells Kitchen who was hired on one of Tod's father's boats ...

I'm not sure if Hollywood is really doing anything these days that will become a 'classic' but I wanted to separate the new from the old.

Specifically, here, I want to talk about some of the period pieces that have been getting a lot of talk.

*******************************************************************************

I'm heading out to see 'Atonement' today and wondered if anyone else had seen it? It looks absolutely beautiful, so even if the story is crap, it should be a gorgeous ...

This is a wonderful series, set in the 1990s and 1940s...at the same time.

TV repairman gets lost and comes up with a second life...and wife...in the 40s.

We first saw it on PBS (Public Broadcasting Stations), and just bought ourselves the whole series on DVD. It's zone 2, so we have to use an all-zone DVD player (or you can play it on laptop).

Or, you can watch it on Youtube!

No not the one where the fake American doctor browbeats his staff and snatches patients from the brink of death. The series of relatively unrelated shows that transport people back in time a la Finney and films their experiences for the BBC/PBS. I've seen them all, and I fancy the 1940s house the most, but tonight I'm re-watching the Regency House party because I'm on a Regency kick this week.

While most people think of Jane Austen, I'm more of a Byron groupie, so while everybody on ...

The short film noir, written by and starring my Old Man, has Wrapped!

We finished up the main shots this weekend, with the lovely Asia DeVinyl in her screen debut, and the raw footage looks fantastic!! It's shot in HiDef black and white, sharply lit, and period perfect, obviously.

Please go to the MySpace for the film, The Debt Collector and sign up--Only friends will have access to the Exclusive Asia as Marie gallery!!

Hi all,

I was watching the new James Bond film tonight and it's pretty good so far, heck I may even put a blog post up about or about Bond...anyway. I started thinking that Bond actually is appropriate for these boards if you stop and think about when he was created as well as Fleming's experiences during the war. Wikipedia says he was first created in '52, about the same time Spillane was in his creative phase.

"...Fleming did admit to being partly inspired by his service in the ...
