Short 1 James Mason plays Charles Coudray, a well-known ballet director. Moira Shearer, is a ballerina who performs for him, knowing it will kill her heart. Very long ballet sequence.

Short 2 Tommy (very young Ricky Nelson) is a 12-year-old boy travelling with his French governess and tutor (Leslie Caron); and he's bored out of his mind. He happens upon a witch, Mrs. Pennicott (Ethel Barrymore) ...

http://www.leatherheadsmovie.com/

It's a movie about (American) football in the 20s. George Clooney and Renee Zellwegger (sp).

Both are very good in period movies, and Clooney directs as well. I'd get on line for this one!

This is another, it opens in the States in late May 2008:

Finally! Another (probably the last) Indiana Jones movie. And Karen Allen is in again, too.

What are your favorite short films?

I love the Crime Doesn't Pay films even though they are a little hokey. I love the short Films with Zazu Pitts and Thelma Todd. I of course love the Robert Benchley shorts. There is a DVD with quite a few of them. I also love A Failure at 50 (about Abraham Lincoln), and one from the 50's which is sort of a modern Nativity. I can't recall the name.

My very favorite Short Film is So That Mother's Might Live. I greatly admire Semmelweis and might never of ...

Is it me, or has TVLand gone down the same path as AMC? (RIP, the Good Old Days!)...seems all of a sudden, they've swiched formats from truly classic and good programmes, to really recent stuff, like Cheers. And last night I saw an ad for NEWS RADIO, of all things! Really, I don't consider ANY television which aired within my teen/adult lifetime "classic"...or even worth watching.

Except, of course, for "Homefront." Please, somebody, air it again, and PLEASE put ...

Facinating, because according to Wikipedia, 1964 was not good for Judy. Link to NARA follows or I've also got it on my blog. But here's the question: Why? Evidently, the Kennedys loved to throw parties and in doing so, became close to Judy? Does anybody know anything about this? I would love ...

Have you noticed the trend where networks are reworking the old cartoons? In our area, George of the Jungle just got re-released.
I'm lucky enough to still be able to catch Tom & Jerry from the 40's. I've got my kids hooked also....
