| No idea. Lent sort of crept up on me! Maybe salad, or sushi. _________________ "To say that New York came up to its advance billing would be the baldest of understatements. Being there was like being in heaven, without going to all the bother and expense of dying." ~P.G. Wodehouse

| Tonight: venison roast with sherry gravy, broccoli and herb-roasted redskin potatoes. Tomorrow is Jayson's birthday, so we'll have steak (his favorite) with onion rings and salad. I just finished baking his cake, but I don't get to have any. |

| We had tuna wraps from the recipe I posted in "meatless". Tonight we're going out. I don't know where. Tomorrow no meat for me, beyond that I don't know! _________________ "To say that New York came up to its advance billing would be the baldest of understatements. | On another forum I frequent there have been awesome suggestions. Lots of them are culled from vegetarian or vegan sites and look great. If your kids like vegetables you've got a lot of easy options, too. One thing I like to do is blanch and crisp broccoli, carrots, etc., and serve them over greens, with a dressing. Then you can have hummous and crackers on the side. Or top it with tuna salad, or salmon. Oven roasted root vegetables are great. Also beans, black bean soup, casseroles with rice and veg....it took me a while to think about all this stuff, I grew up in a primarily meat-and-potatoes household, but once I was on my own I changed around. Meat's too expensive for a student budget! That started me off. _________________ "To say that New York came up to its advance billing would be the baldest of understatements. | We do a lot of veggies with Brown Rice. I buy brown Basmati rice in bulk! I just steam them slightly, then toss them in and sautee with some sesame oil and ginger/garlic/teryaki whatever the mood is. They go over surprisingly well! Of course, totally spaced on it being Friday and packed the Parochial school kid a turkey sandwich!! Eh. well...we're getting there! |

| I think we're noshing. Probably crackers, veggies or a salad (for me), hummous, a bit of tuna salad, olives, pickles, maybe cheese.... Hey, I heard you can make polenta in a crock pot! Who knew? I need to try it. In fact, I have a big crock pot that has a split liner...I could do polenta in one half, and a marinara sauce or vegetable ragu in the other! _________________ "To say that New York came up to its advance billing would be the baldest of understatements. | There's always mac & cheese- the homemade kind, not the blue box! I have a good recipe for fish/shrimp and corn casserole somewhere. I'll have to find it; even my husband and son loved it. And my husband is the pickier eater of the two! |
